It was recently reported that a group of scientists at Boston University have defined a group of genetic variations that allow for predictions of human longevity.
The study, which focused on a group of individuals with exceptional longevity, apparently defines a set of genetic features that can predict whether a person will live to 100 years of age with 77 percent accuracy.

The researchers also found 19 different genetic "signatures" in 90 percent of centenarians which correlated with "different patterns of exceptional longevity,"
